Difficult to find BDWF. Why?

Post by SFWatcher » Sat Sep 14, 2024 8:45 am

It seems that BDWF is getting hard to find with search functions. Right now when I do a search BDWF is 6 or more places down and I keep finding a "BDWF is not dead" thread with input from two banned members. I know these watch forums aren't as active as they once were but does anyone know why search is difficult? Is it the activity level?

It’s unfortunate that people no longer discuss stuff here. When someone makes a thread other than WOTD, it may get one or two comments. There just aren’t enough people here to really make it a forum and most members here are just not into commenting outside of WOTD.
Participation is about non existent. For the last year or so, this forum has been taking up space. If it weren’t for the history threads of BDWF, it would be worthless.
Kind of a waste and sad that it is what it is now. A lot of good information and history here, but it’s not worth keeping it going. This place isn’t even spinning its wheels anymore, the wheels have coasted to a stop.
It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.

I know that I have not been active in sometime and have been busy with other projects and life. I personally haven’t bought a watch since my divorce due to buying a new home and building the dock. On top of that needed a new boat, sold my old one for the down payment on the house

There are some things that can be done to improve the order. I will have it looked into. Wish I had the time to get back to watches but other things need my attention and time.

I too have been guilty of not doing much activity anymore. Although I still buy watches occasionally, with retirement and other issues going on I haven't devoted much time to being on the forum. If I remember correctly when we lost the original BDWF server, we changed it so that it would be googled using the best damn watch forum handle. Racer X might give you better information than I can as I'm going from memory.

Rick from doxa was part owner of the original server and he tried to make changes so that it could not be indexed. That's why we changed the name back to the original best damn title. If memory serves

Thanks. Searching by the full name gives much better results. :D
