If only...

Post by svaglic » Thu Aug 02, 2018 8:13 am

I just saw one of these on watchrecon at a great price, so I look it up. 43.5mm, GTFOH. If this watch was 40mm or lower, it would have shot to the top of my list.

When I search for watches and see one I’d love to have, I spend most of my time being disappointed in the case size.
This as well as the Alpina Seastrong are total let downs for me. Try to find one in the women’s section and I get diamond gaudy, pink or a quartz movement. Watch company’s must hate women or they think we are so shallow that we will buy crap.
It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.

Not Lalo and Inviter!
A 54mm watch is perfectly suited for a woman, according to Kendi Kadidlehopper :D

Foolishly, I believed them, that it would look good on a wrist my size when I first got into this hobby. They lied, can you believe that?

You should just try it on for shits and giggles Svagy. Looks like it might wear smaller than it really is. I bet you'd rock that 43mm bad boi!

That is a killer watch, Al, and I can only imagine the irritation of finding it virtually impossible to find such beauties in a size that makes them wearable for you. I have long felt that women are overzealously typecast as wanting that "diamond gaudy, pink or a quartz movement" crap and nothing else, so mush so that they feel as if there's something wrong with them if they long for something that's not rigidly typecast for them by lazy marketeers and even lazier designers.

Sadly for me, I'm a lover of 40mm, and I consider it to be my "sweet spot," a term I'm not particularly enamored of, but can find nothing that comes closer to it as a descriptor. Yet, I'm also a big fan of the Invicter Grand Diver, which, at 47mm, is a bit of a barn burner for me. Still and all, I love my 38 & 40mm watches more than any others, and I even feel comfortable rocking the occasional classic 36mm or even 34mm wristwatch. Heck, I've even got a couple of 32mm watches that look pretty danged good, even on my comparatively elephantine wrists!

I do hope that someday my beloved 34mm to 40mm timepieces (oooooh, there's that word again, #@$%&&X@#!) will return tol prominence, but I don't guess I'll hold my breath, truth to tell...
