Swissmatic 19 Jewel?

Post by DBCooper » Tue Apr 16, 2019 4:40 pm

What's the deal with the Swissmatic 19 Jewel automatic. Thinking about grabbing a Tissot for my grandson. Anyone here got an opinion on it. I'm out of the loop gentlemen. :)

Just when I was getting used to the Powermatic 80, here comes the Swissmatic.

As far as I know, the Swissmatic is a half-step above those Swatch autos from about five years back; they're both entirely machine-made and are intended pretty much as entry level autos. Unfortunately, I can't bring much to the table here regarding accuracy, as I've yet to talk to anyone who owns a watch with a Swissmatic.

I do really like the Powermatic 80, which in this context, doesn't mean a lot. But I do think the Swissmatic is intended as an "entry" auto, akin to an NH35 or whatnot.

Appreciate the feedback guys. I saw these Tissot autos the other day over at Joma for 199 bucks. Don't want to go too far out there for my bonehead grandson

It’s an ETA C15.111 renamed for Tissot. Art was right Ana’s wrong as the base caliber is a Sistem 51 or ETA C10.111

Not a bad movement in my opinion.
