Brass and Bronze watch cases

Post by GeorgeH » Sun Sep 01, 2019 1:22 am

I have been looking at some divers with brass or bronze cases instead of the usual stainless steel. I seem to recall reading somewhere that there are chemicals in brass or bronze that could cause skin problems. I'm sure I could Google this and get some info, but was wondering if anyone has had any experience/problems with these types of cases?

I bought a diver with a bronze case from Christopher Ward and I haven't had any problems at all....with the watch or skin issues. I know some people are allergic to different metals. My wife can't wear silver at all....only gold. Lucky me

I ordered a brass from Kickstarter, it should be in this month.
If the watch has a stainless case back, like I think most do, then it shouldn’t bother you.
The problem I think I’ll have is that some people say it smells. Like your hands smell after handling coins in a casino.
It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.
