I have always considered the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms to be one of the most iconic watches of all time. In my personal top five of most admired watches. In my mind's eye, it's like an eight to 11 thousand dollar watch.

So I was just on WUS looking at the WURW thread and someone has one that looks brand-spanking new on a NATO. Bubbly-colored NATO, to boot.

To me, that's like serving bottled Country Time Lemonade (which has no actual lemon in it) with a porterhouse.

Elizabeth, it's the big one.

I've never understood the attraction to NATO's on any watch.

No fan of NATOs and honestly, not a huge fan of the FF. Come at me!

No comin' at you, it's all good. The FF is one of those watches though where the history is just fascinating. I think it's earned its spot as truly iconic, but hey - the best thing about the hobby is that no two Top 10s are alike. As it should be. Unless your Top 10 has an Invicta Ocean Ghost on it, then you're just a f***ing a******.

Everyone and their fucking brother seems to want to put a NATO on everything.... Dress watches are especially cringe-worthy.
