I like the steel version; the two-tone I'm not sure about yet.

I kinda/sorta like the two-tone. I bet this is one you'll have to see in the wild (provided you can find one at all).

Yep and yep.
The 5KX sport watch is such a great homage to the Explorer. For the money, I would have to choose the Seiko. Have no idea why I sold mine. Was damn near the perfect watch but it just didn't speak to my old, fat soul.

Re: 2 new Rolex Explorers
I wish I could remember who wrote this, but it's the best summing up of the Rolex brand than any other I can think of: "Rolex is more about evolution rather than revolution."
Rolex right now accounts for 25 percent of all Swiss watch sales, which is stunning. People whining about "not enough innovation" miss the point - they don't mess with watches that are mega-popular, and instead trying to improve them and make the quality better when they find a way to do it.
One bloated YouTube reviewer claimed that one new Rolex update - putting in a new movement with a better power reservein an existing product - was "nothing special."
There are SO many "watch experts" gumming up the web that are nothing but. Rolex is a nonpareil product, and the company backs what it sells. Now the brand is getting ragged on for ... what, exactly? Not putting catapults on their watches like Wing Liang did?
Give me a freakin' break.

Rolex, although overpriced, is ROCK solid. Always has been, likely always will be.
Cannot fault them for design consistency, technical innovation and anyone who whines about them not being aggressive in changing their lineup can bite the big one.
When you make something that successful and well built, why screw with it?
