You know, for some reason Seiko leave me stone cold but do like the Islander.

Impression:
Fit and finish are good. Jubilee bracelet fits well and screws make it easy to size with the enclosed screwdriver. No rattles...
Dial color is nice but hard to photo with the domed sapphire crystal.

Bezel action is good, no back play but I dislike the color of the ceramic insert and will be shopping for a replacement.
This model can use Seiko SKX013 parts too.

Overall it does a good job of scratching the desire for a Doxa style watch

Looks great. For the money, Islander watches are tough to beat. Seiko can’t do it, or rather won’t do it.

FINALLY I get to see an Islander that isn't a promo shot. Gotta be honest - it looks more substantial and better made than the company's own promotional photos make the watches look. Glad to read that the brand actually seems to be a decent deal.

But not a fan of the jubilee bracelet, I had one on a Seiko it 'seemed' a bit flimsy at the lug end.

BUT it never honestly gave me cause for concern.

They do seem to offer a fair amount of quality at that price point.

Solid end links on this one...best jubilee I've had.

The bezel is growing on me a bit...we'll see how it goes.

Nice, I've been looking at those on the interwebz. The bezel insert is not my favorite part, but doesn't really detract from it IMO. Are other colorways available or does one just buy any of the myriad available for the SKX? I do like the look with the crown at 4. Congrats.

They have a black dial and bezel. I preferred the blue sunray.
Frankly, I was surprised that only 2 choices were available.

Mark, if you're asking about the insert, he has one or two on site, but I didn't care for either.
If the insert doesn't work for me, I found another source with more options.
