Becoming a Utuber

Post by MKTheVintageBloke » Sat Aug 28, 2021 7:30 pm

After talking with some friends, I have decided that in the following weeks I will attempt starting a YouTube channel about all things watch. Authenticating and identifying vintage watches, step by step deconstruction of bad listings, and so on. Reviews, general talk, you name it. Bet I can be better at this than some 99% watch-related channels out there...

Anyway, I’d be grateful if you could suggest some cool name for the channel.
And I’d love to know if there’s any particular type of content that you would like to see me present and talk about.
My manner of thinking, so you say, cannot be approved. Do you suppose I care? A poor fool indeed is he who adopts a manner of thinking for others!

Great, I’m looking forward to seeing this. You are a very knowledgeable young man, you have a way with words and you are factual. Go with your handle from here as your YouTube page.
Topics
Blast other reviewers like Bazinga
Show what others are selling and show the frankens, what they are lying about and leaving out.
Show info on how to identify redials
Talk of scandals of watch company’s that blow smoke, like Panerai, radium girls and Doxa
Discuss various complications like moonphase, alarm, compressor etc...
Moon landing watch stuff, bobbee can help with that.
Discuss the rare pieces like the Nitella you just got.
Basically everything you’ve already wrote about just put to video.

What has been said hits the nail on the head for content. And I like “The Vintage Watch Bloke.”

All fine ideas here, thanks!

When the project will go live, I’ll obviously share it here. For now, I have to learn video editing, and buy some proper equipment - a lightbox, a decent camera with high-quality sound recording...

By the way, if anyone here has some software and hardware recommendations for stuff vital to making this a pro rather than amateur endeavour, I’d be grateful for that.

If you're looking for a great, FREE, video editing package try "Di Vinci Resolve". I have used Premiere Pro and this is much more powerful and I think easier to use. Lots of YouTube vids on how to get started, etc. It's actually used by the "big boys" out West. Just a suggestion.
