The date window isn’t correct and the text is off. Lume is sloppily applied.

The real thing:

It may well be the plastic cover distorting the pic but I sure as hell wouldn’t bite, not based on staring at photos from MLC vs the seller’s few photos.

I kind of think you're calling fake for a bad picture. The shadow may make the date window appear off center but it actually looks fine. The rest of the information and shots provided with the offering look good. Besides, if someone is going to make a fake Maurice Lacroix are they going to go for a low end quartz? To me it just doesn't add up.

It may just be a shit photo but MLC makes Aikon quartz chronos and they aren’t inexpensive. And there are replica ones for $250-400 out there.

Hell, Wish is full of fake Seiko 5s and Invicta.

It is up to the seller (these days) to prove that they aren't selling fakes. This includes decent photos and provenance of what they are selling. It also is the buyers who must beware.

When buying a watch, always buy the seller first. If you can't trust the buyer, then don't buy. If you buy fakes knowing they might be fakes but are looking for the best price, then fuck the hell off and be damned to you.

Wow, good find Travis and call outs here. Years ago, I bought a Seiko Sportura Barcelona from eBay that was suspicious once in my hand, but thought who would bother faking a cheaper quartz? Sure enough, I found fakes for sale matching my concerns and sent it back.

And of course the seller hasn't responded. That, in itself, as well as shit photos and a starting price well below what it should sell for are mighty damned suspicious.

I have pointed out to sellers who weren't experienced in the past when they were selling fakes. I believe some really didn't know...those types who bought at a garage sale. Those have pulled their auctions and thanked me.

That's a damned good looking Seiko chrono. Did you ever snag a legit one?

I stand corrected to some extent, but the other photos show many of the items I received with my Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Chronograph and I believe it is very real. What did the seller say when you called his watch a fake?Image

Unfortunately boxes, manuals, hang tags and warranty cards (even the holographic ones) are easily counterfeited. It isn't uncommon for sellers knowingly selling fakes as the real thing to buy some of those items off eBay to make their fakes look legit.

I told the seller I believed he had a replica watch on his hands and pointed out the issues. No response, again that's a red flag.

I looked for a while but never found one at a price I wanted to pay. It's also pretty big on-wrist with long lug-to-lug and huge pushers.
