Sartego Ocean Master

Post by JAS1125 » Tue Feb 19, 2013 4:46 pm

Posted this a few days ago at BDWF, so thought I would share here too.

First saw this on Amazon and found it interesting....I had this in the "save for later" cart, waiting to see if the price would drop, which it did
Specs per the website...not a lot of info floating around on the forums either.

Sartego Men's watch SPA15.
·Oceanmaster Collection.
·Precise 21 jewels self-winding automatic movement.
·Stainless steel case and bracelet.
·Gray dial with day and date display and a Spanish option.
·Luminous hands and markers.
·Rotating bezel.
·Screw down crown.
·Fold-over deployment clasp.
·Water resistant to 200 Meters.

What the specs don't tell is that for an inexpensive diver, this is pretty decent.....

40-42mm case, with 22mm non-tapering bracelet.
Scissors-style clasp with locking push button release
Solid end links
No-play bezel
Micro-adjustment on clasp with very good fit.
Miyota movement.
Sweet silver sunray dial

All in all, pretty well made...much better than an Invicta Pro Diver and on par at least with an Orient Mako/Ray, but with a better made bracelet.

There's only one thing I don't care for, which was not evident (to me) on the stock pic below

A bit too much bling ...

Still a keeper, despite the high polish case and bracelet. Perhaps once it's scratched up, I'll consider taking the shine off.
Despite that, still a surprisingly decent watch for not a lot of bucks

I really like it a lot and, FWIW/IMHO, I also really like the high polish on the case and bracelet; it sets off the sunray dial in a very nice manner that is neither gaudy nor garish. It may take a bit of getting used to but, in the end, that high-polish may turn out to be one of your most favorite aspects of the watch...or, I just might be chock-full of everyday, garden-variety shit...

Thanks for comment guys...Amazon has some other styles too and for the price, this is a pretty decent diver.
