My new (to me) Helson shark diver

Post by kahuna74 » Wed Apr 08, 2015 7:23 am

So I decided I wanted a Helson Shark diver and had been looking at three different watches, two with an Eta movement, used, and one with a Miyota movement that was new. The new one was 40mm. The other one that I did not buy with an Eta movement was 45mm and was Titanium. I wanted that one, but the seller would not go down on his price. I picked this beautiful Helson partly because it was a 42mm Shark diver. Its rated 500 meter water resistant with a Swiss ETA 2824 movement. This one is a 1st generation issue and its in excellent shape, with serial #82. A few very light marks on bracelet. The case is near mint condition and crystal is clear with no scratches. The dial is black with orange markers, date between 4 and 5 O'clock position. Unidirectional bezel. Watch is heavy 316SS and very comfortable and I think it looks good on the wrist. It seems to be only 13mm or 14mm thick, not bad IMO. And now for a few pictures

That one is really nice, and those melon-colored markings are just way-cool, Big K...once again, I'm extremely jealous but still very happy for you...well done.

Thanks guys. This watch is the most comfortable watch I have ever worn. So far it is spot on for keeping time. And mort, the pictures don't really show off just how perfect and beautiful the melon colored orange really is. Has the brightest glow of any watch I own as well. Better than even my Seiko monster, for real.
