I can't show a movement shot because it is a monocoque case.

The technical info
Model: SCVF001 ( 4S15 -7000) First Production: 1995 (discontinued in 1997)
Movement: Automatic 25 jewel 4S15 , hi-Beat @ 28,800 vph, Hacking and Manual Winding
Case: Titanium monocoque
Bracelet: Titanium w/ Ratchet Clasp....Mine did not come with this, I have to find one.
Diameter: 40mm w/o Crown
Height:. 13mm
Lug Width: 19mm
Glass: Hardlex

Made at Shizukuishi Watch Studio where Credor and Grand Seiko are made. First production of the 4s15-7000 was 1995 and was discontinued in 1997 due to the high cost to make the 4s15.

I had read about the movement and wanted one. I began the search and saw various styles, but none jumped out at me for the cost. Then I saw this, I read about it and decided this model was going to be mine. It was a long hunt, but worth it. It's not as pristine as I usually like, but I think I can get it better. I read that just getting a new Hardex crystal is easier than buffing out the scratches, so that looks like the route I will go. Due to the case being a mono, I am going to probably send it to Seiko Japan to get it done and have it serviced. If that is a bad idea, to send it to Japan, let me know. Perhaps I can get a replacement bracelet through them.

First off, CONGRATULATIONS on your long hunt finally paying off!! :D I know what that's like, and while it is rarely fun when you hit the blind alley's and myriad setbacks, in the end, it's always a marvelous feeling to finally land it for your collection...and then comes the wait from H-E-Double-Hockey-Sticks...oh, well...

As for sending it to Japan, the first thing I would ask myself would be 'Do we have a resource on this side of the mighty Pacific Ocean who can be relied upon to do right by this watch?' I'm not necessarily talking about an authorized Seiko repair jamoke -- most of whom are more like technicians, who go to a service manual, perform checks A, B and C, then go to the 128-volume parts manual, trying to find the correct part(s), then plugs them into your watch, which is then [hopefully] repaired -- but, rather, an experienced Watchmaker/Repair Expert. (I'm blessed where I am, in that I have a crusty, coffee-swilling Watchmaker from Japan who knows his shite, backwards & forwards, when it comes to Seiko and Citizen watches, especially my vintage pieces... 8) )

If that's not the case where you are, then I personally would have zero problems with sending out, especially if it's going off to a Japanese watch firm, like Seiko. The only caveat is to find the right liaison person over there who will 'ride herd' on your repair and keep you informed of its progress.

Well, that's my 2¢, for what they're worth... Please keep us informed of the progress of the work as the process begins. As always, please accept my deepest wishes for the best of luck, a quick process and a thorough job performed... :face:

Thanks Mort. Ask your guy if he can work on this model with this mono case and movement, if he can I'd send it to him if he would take me as a client. I like keeping money local or State side.

I've been using a knockoff Tropics strap, while it looks good, it isn't that comfortable. Mostly the buckle so I will look at swapping that out to see if it helps.

I'm a fan of the bracelet on divers so I ordered this off eBay. I have a two week wait, at least, coming from Saudi. It's 19mm and hopefully it will look good until I find the original bracelet for it, which may be never. I will heat it to be darker to match the titanium watch. I have always liked this style, usually they are pretty expensive, but this guy took my offer.

I tried a shark mesh and it just didn't look good, it sat too low and the gap was ugly. I had an old Tissot replacement bracelet that came out of China, the rally stainless type. I couldn't make it work either, the solid end links sat too high and it crooked out the links at an odd angle on me. I don't have a 19mm beads of rice, but the 18mm didn't sit right so I didn't want to invest in a 19mm one. Hopefully this will look ok when it comes in.
The slope of the lugs and the holes for the pin are low, creating about a 8mm gap giving a nice view of the sides between the lugs.
It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.
