Seiko Baby Arnie Sports 100 H556-5029 in coming
It has been a long time since I have posted about a new watch I've picked up, even though there has been a few. I have noticed my tast lately has been back to quartrz watches. I have either picked up or repair some Heuers with another custom one in coming. With that all said I have wanted one of these for a long time. So I found this one and jumped on it. The last one I found that had been cleaned up, I lost in the auction because I fell asleep. I wasn't letting this one get away. It is a Seiko Sports 100 H556-5029 "Pre Arnie or BabyArnie" watch as they are called by some, in good condition with a new mineral glass crystal, new crown and stem, new pusher gaskets, new Seiko rear case gasket, new silver oxide battery, new Seiko 1.5MM spring bars and the crown, pushers and case gasket have been treated with Seiko TSF-451 silicone grease. The watch is fully functional in good working order including the alarm, stopwatch, dual times and light. The bezel is bi-directional and it to has been cleaned and turns easily I'm being told. The watch is running strong and accurate the seller tells me and he has sold and repaired a few of these and has a good understanding of them. The serial number is 224678, which tells us the watch was most likely produced in February of 1982. That year is the most common it seems for this model.
Pictures are from the seller, so when it gets to me next week I'll take a wrist shot. Looking for a leather strap for this one and I have my eye on two at the moment. Thanks for looking and as always, I wear what I like and own what I wear.
