New silicone strap for the Helix Diver
One of the nicest features of the Helix Okto Blue Diver model HX420-03L17B was a fantastic stainless steel bracelet with rubber inserts on the center links and an expandable diver's clasp.
Well, that all went by way of the dodo a few weeks back when the center links began to crumble. See the picture below.
I tried to glue things back together but super glue didn't seem to do the trick and the crumbling continued.
I resorted to a Google search for replacement watch straps with curved ends. I didn't like the thought of having a gap between the case and the strap.
I think I got pretty lucky. I found a black silicone strap with blue accent stitching and blue rally strap cut-outs.
I think it looks good and it fits the case and lugs like an OEM replacement.
My search turned up quite a few more straps than I anticipated. Since I don't dive and very seldom wear watches in water I'm thinking of picking up a second strap in leather.
Thanks for looking.
