Chinese watch makers are not generally known for their original designs, but their quality does appear to be improving. While shopping the internet last month I found this model on the Manbushijie watch site. They were once a site that dealt primarily in Marina Militare watches.
This watch brand is called Corgeut.

Yup... I also purchased the one you just did you review on. I agree with your assessment a lot of quality and bang for the buck. If you're looking for a homage it's light years ahead of The old Alpha.
