Tommy Bahama Silver Safari

Post by mrneddles » Thu Aug 23, 2012 4:16 am

Won this on eBay last week and it was on my desk this morning. I have a soft spot for these TB sterling silver cased watches. They currently are out of production. I had the square Silver Palm in the past, but is was gift from my ex-tormentor(wife), so I jetisoned it.

This one has a Chronoswiss Timemaster like case, 40mm diameter. The dial is a metallic taupe/dirty gold dial with embossed palm trees. The silver in the case gives it a very white hot, almost white gold appearance. The lugs are pretty thin and cheap feeling though.

I am going to scrap the canvas strap and get a Tommy Bahama leather basketweave strap.

Just a quick iPhone pic:

You do realize, Neds, that you're also gonna have to purchase a nice pair of harachi sandals and a taupe and lizard green Hawaiian shirt...oh, and a bushy-bushy-blonde-hair wig, too...

Excellent suggestions, gentlemen! And let's not forget the woody...um, you know, the car with that moniker...as opposed to the, er, alternate meaning... 8)

Joking aside, that is a different looking watch, in a good way. Like the onion style crown. Interesting dial. And the silver case does stand out. With my propensity to bash watches off any door jam, I would be afraid to scratch the silver to peices. The basket weave strap will look great. Cheers to a nice watch.

I really like it, Neds! And it opens my mind up a little bit further...oh, and I'm glad you already have the sandals! :face:
