Call me Captain Steeldive

Post by JAS1125 » Sat Jun 19, 2021 1:06 pm

I wanted to see how one of the homage makers of the Captain Williard did, and Steeldive had this on sale. Since I'm a sucker for blue sunburst and sales, this arrived today.

First impressions...not bad at all. No back play with the bezel, solid end links, lume on dial and bezel. Sapphire crystal with AR and NH35 movement.
43mm width, almost 47 in lug length and 20 mm bracelet.
The brushed finish is not the best I've ever seen, but no sharp edges.

My only complaint is the bracelet is not giving me an ideal fit. Frankly if the clasp had 1 more micro (it has 3) or if I had one half link I could make it better. I'll see how it goes with the summer weather.

All in all, I continue to be impressed with the improving quality of homages.

This looks great. Have heard good things about Steeldive.

I'm pleasantly surprised... I have a black dial Turtle and you'd be hard pressed to tell them apart if you removed the logo. I actually prefer the Steeldive bezel

Got me this one in Bronze and it's a peach, a lot of watch for not much money..
Impressed with it, wasn't too sure about the cheesy name though..

Dunno what is going on but the picture insists on being shown upside down, irrespective of the way I edit it, so y'all stand on yer heads now...

Good thing I use a laptop.
