RZE Resolute Titanium

Post by biglove » Fri Oct 08, 2021 5:16 pm

Picked this one up from the Microbrand Store out of Singapore for a discounted $435 USD with free shipping to US. There were several discount codes for the RZE site and I had just missed their birthday sale where Mark at WL got a great deal.

Had been looking at these for some time. Messaged Mark at WL about his and he was very positive about it.

Feels super light, good crown purchase, very tight bracelet tolerances. Came with a canvas strap with Titanium buckle and a NATO in addition to the bracelet. Canvas strap is as stiff as hardwood. Case and bracelet finishing are brushed and well done. Solid case back, milled clasp with champhered edges. Fold-over clasp lock is smooth and engraved deeply with the RZE logo. Not a sharp edge to be found.

Have seen a review calling this "The poor man's Sinn 556." I can see that. Is slightly larger but the AR coating and lume are well done. At this price, is likely the best bracelet I have owned. Feels very much a well made tool watch. Crown purchase when screwing/unscrewing is pretty damned smooth. Not Sinn smooth but for 1/3 the price, close enough.

Things I would change:
Wish it had a SW-200 movement but NH35 will have to do.
Ditch the taper on the bracelet

Specs:
Solid Titanium with ULTRAHex Coating (up to ~1200Hv hardness)
SII NH35A Automatic Movement
100m (330ft) / 10ATM
Screw-down crown with custom reverse engraved logo
Sand textured dials with applied indexes
Swiss Superluminova C3 & BGW9
Sapphire Crystal with inner-side Super-AR
Custom canvas strap with custom titanium hardware and leather backing with reinforced strap holes.
Screw-down solid titanium caseback with VITON® gasket
Included extras: Tarpaulin watch pouch

Dimensions:
40.5mm case width
11.5mm case thickness
46mm case length /lug-to-lug
20mm lug width tapers to 18mm at buckle
Weight: 65 grams (guessing without bracelet)

Definitely a keeper and glad to have this one as my beater. Don't think I can hurt it.

Photos in different light over the last 24 hours. IPhone 13 Max Pro camera, most using the wide angle lens.

Decided to add some macro shots. This watch is incredibly well done for the price.

Ooh. I like that a lot. Adding it to the possibilities for my nephew when he graduates high school in the spring... (I'm looking for a $300-500 daily-wear sport watch, not a diver)

I am past the stage of being impressed with micros. There are some well made micros out there that are, hands down, offering better quality, designs and QC than the likes of Seiko. Most of those micros are just repetitive designs and homages. This brand is really thinking differently.

You would be hard pressed to do better than this watch for below $500. It is that impressive. Could easily be my only watch.

Why, that would be a Sinn!
😂😂😂
No doubt, if I had my choice it would be the 556 vs the 104, if I had to sell everything else. If I had to sell everything and choose a single watch under $500, the Resolute would win.

I ordered it with bracelet in grey for my nephew. It's in transit. I'm a little concerned that I'll want to keep it and buy him a Timex.
