Kamasu surprise...not a Kamasu

Post by biglove » Wed Oct 27, 2021 3:19 pm

In keeping with the tradition of wearing a new Orient watch for each of my grandkids' births, one they will literally cut their teeth on, and which I will wear to all their important firsts and then give to them at HS graduation...

Our youngest daughter told us almost four months ago she was pregnant again. Has been kept a secret until this weekend to get past the first trimester. Even more scary was she and her husband both were ill with COVID back six weeks ago. She finally told her siblings this weekend. Lots of happy tears.

Anyway, once I found out it would be a boy, I started shopping for a deal on a new Kamasu. Figured blue or black would work.

Saw a eBay listing late one night last week for a new "Kamasu." Submitted a offer for $125 and was surprised and pleased when accepted.

Arrived today and noticed the 12 o'clock marker wasn't correct. Looked back over the auction photos, was listed as a Kamasu with stock Kamasu photos but actual photos and model showed the now discontinued Orient Mako USA II with blue dial.

Considering these are impossible to find new and go for $170-$180 used, I am thrilled.
