Late night with insomnia, so I went shopping.
Here is a close up of the Ginza Alpinist. Initially I wasn’t interested, then I saw they were impossible to get and were reselling for almost twice what it originally went for. Maybe it can be nice trade bait or maybe I’ll fall in love with it in person. I’ve been wanting the Seiko Salmon dial for a while and I got it for new what they are selling for used.

Never mind. Jura sent all of us who ordered it a message saying that Seiko won’t let them mail to the United States anymore. Unless I have an address in the UK or Europe, I can’t get it.

It just occurred to me, that if I shipped it to someone in Europe or the UK, I would have to pay those taxes and VAT. Kind of negates the awesome deal I initially thought I was getting.

Saw it posted earlier today that Jura wasn't shipping the Ginza to the US, or any other Seiko evidently. Guess the 800 pound Seiko gorilla got on them.

Gah, bummer. I dig them both.

Day 14 and Jura still hasn’t refunded my money. Despite me starting out nice to fully getting angry, I have yet to see my over a grand refund.

^^^it took a little bit for my refund on a cancelled order from them but it eventually came through. Cannot remember for sure but I think I may have filed a dispute with my credit card company before they got off their ass.

I filed a dispute with PayPal.
I need to start a company, take peoples money, not deliver a product and collect interest off all the money I keep until PayPal makes me pay it back.

Seems to be a solid business plan and unfortunately being used by more and more companies.

I have seen insurance companies deny claims as long as possible. If they deny $10 million in claims for six months, if they are making 25% on their investments, well it isn’t hard to see what they are doing.

After 16 days and a PayPal dispute, I finally got my $1,193.69 back.

I’ll not be using Jura again, that was my first and last interaction with them.
