$139.00 + $15 s&h. Ships at the end of February.
Reading through the ad is painful, english is not a second language and I’m still not sure about some stuff. It is 38mm though and it’s a style that Fortis put out 40-50 years ago that costs a pretty penny now, if you can find one that hasn’t been frankened or redialed.
Here is a picture of the Fortis, 1975.

Here is how a decompression watch works.

I’m sure The Merkur works like this in theory, but I don’t think I’ll be trusting it in the water. If Mido doesn’t recommend you rely on their watch for decompression times, how the hell could you trust the Merkur?

Here is the very pretty Mido version I like. It’s 40.5mm and I just want it smaller. Plus if you didn’t get these right away, you will pay above retail for one now.

So I got a cheapie for looks and gadgetry. I was bored so I went shopping.

Interesting!!..has to be one of the most colorful pieces of wrist wear in your collection...
Ebels are a lot like women that lack a low cut dress that zips up the side...neither get the love that they deserve...

I love the Mido colors, but not $1,500-2,000 enough. So I’ll play around with a cheapie. I have decent watches in my collection, but for some reason, I can’t stay away from cheapies.

Finally got it today. The shipping date kept getting pushed back and there wasn't any communication, just dead silence.

Not bad, a better case then most Chinese watches that have been coming in those small black plastic cases.

Tasteful, it has the warranty card and other paperwork in the top pocket and a fitted spot for the watch.

$139.00 for the watch on bracelet and $15 to ship, so $154.00 total. Not bad, I can deal with this.

Side view where it slopes a little and makes it comfortable on my wrist. Signed crown. Doesn’t wear bad at all. I had to put the pin back in, but it was cool it was loose because it made sizing easier.

The cheap beads of rice bracelet, they are not singular beads, but it doesn’t bother me. It isn’t uncomfortable.

This is a cool, cheap little beater. I’m pleased for what $154.00 got me.

Some oddities. A butterfly clasp instead of a regular z clasp, I know it’s an homage and it can’t really go diving, but if you’re going to go through the trouble of the intricate decompression dial, then a dive clasp isn’t too much. In fact I would think it cheaper. It is a good butterfly clasp, I just think it’s inappropriate for a dive watch.
No screw down crown.
I may toy with the idea of putting it in a dive watch case with a screw down crown.
It doesn’t really matter though, because I don’t dive and I rarely snorkel. It should handle a rain and that’s about all I would ever put it through.

So it’s more of a desk diver cheapie? I like the looks and for the money I think it’s decent. As always well done.

I like the looks of the dial; if I had one, I'd tell my granddaughters this is how you kept track of your steps before Fitbit and Apple watch.

Merkur has put together another budget winner.
