Argos Apollo II
Got it in yesterday. Not bad, it won’t be a favorite, but it will get wrist time and go into my vacation watch rotation.
It seems bigger on the wrist, it’s a 40mm with 44 lug to lug, but it seems bigger on the wrist. It doesn’t overhang, but it comes to the edge. If it sat smaller, it would get more wrist time. It is thin and that makes it light weight, like a vintage watch.
There is no wow factor, but it is tasteful and decent. The bracelet sucks so I’ll be looking for a new one. Some close ups to see the finishing. As you can see, it wasn’t high on their list. That’s ok to me because it gives it a more vintage vibe. The side view to see the thickness, 7mm. No signed crown, which I think I like because it’s easier to replace
and not have to be concerned about getting the right one with the brand logo. It came in a cool wood box. They put some thought in this. This box has some wow factor. FHF ST96 Movement with a 24-30 hour power reserve, so it’s not great there, but the movement allowed for the thin case and vintage vibe.
For a hundred dollar watch it’s not bad, I’ve seen worse and I’ve seen better, this is something I was looking for though so it works for me. If you want something with great finishing and a great bracelet, this isn’t for you. If you don’t mind a vintage looking watch and can accept the poor finishing as a vintage vibe then go for it.
