Edox SkyDiver Neptunian

Post by Racer-X » Mon Jul 05, 2021 6:21 pm

"The Edox SkyDiver Neptunian is one of those pleasingly over-engineered dive watches that is probably unlikely to ever be pushed to its physical limits. And despite the fact that’s par for the course for most dive watches (the vast majority of which call the desk home as Jorg’s article earlier today deftly pokes fun at), an additional reason why I assume it will be the case for the Edox SkyDiver is because its physical limits are immense."

I was saving my pennies for a previous Edox SkyDiver Neptunian and was waiting for them to hit these shores (Edox usually goes gray here), but I scrapped that plan when I recently picked up an older but still-new Grand Ocean model.

I noticed that Ashford recently offered some SkyDivers, but only quartz models (Edox usually offers quartz-version models of many of their watches). I'm happy with what I picked up, but these new models look rock solid and seem to be a return to form for the brand. The orange doesn't do a thing for me - and we all know about orange dials, hee hee - but the autos are pretty mint, albeit slightly large.

I think so much of Edox, and for the life of me I can't understand why they don't have a U.S. presence or attempt to get into more retailers here. They don't even have direct ordering through its website, which seems a fatal mistake given current trends in online commerce.

Note: I've noticed on Ashford that several brands, including Edox, have an Ashford symbol with the words "Authorized Dealer" next to it. I don't know what this means in terms of warranties. Oddly enough, the official Edox U.S. repair center is not far from me, in Long Island - which means you can't buy an Edox here but you can get one fixed here. Make any sense to you?

These are really tempting. Wish could see one in person.

Yeah, that's just it. There is virtually no way to do that.
