Finally!!...Steinhart Ocean 39 Vintage GMT - Gnomon Exclusive

Post by thunder1 » Thu Apr 01, 2021 4:39 am

I'm very happy w/ my OLKO version of this baby, but because it is so hard to get ahold of, I hope this offering makes a lot of us happy...good luck hunting!!.. :D

The Steinhart Ocean Vintage GMT is a very well built divers watch from Steinhart. Made in Switzerland and powered by a Swiss Made ETA 2893-2/SW330 Elaboré automatic movement. Two time zones can be tracked on this watch with the help of the GMT hand and GMT Bezel.

The Steinhart Ocean Vintage GMT is made to the highest of Swiss standards. The case of the Steinhart Ocean 1 is made from 316L stainless steel. Features a satin brushed finish on the top of the lugs and polished sides of the case. This finishing follows through the stainless steel bracelet. The compact 39mm case has a lug to lug distance of 47mm and a thickness of 14mm, creating a refined character that looks right in place even in dressier occasions.

The GMT bezel on the Ocean GMT pays tribute to the original cave explorer watch. The fixed bezel is circular brushed with a fine polished bevel that goes around the edge that extends to the side giving it a hint of elegance.

Prefer the version you got with the white indices
Yeah, but the problem is that there is always a limited # of them available & folks are tired of waiting for notifications on Instagram of their fleeting availability..I know of at least one would-be collector that had the watch in his cart and it was sold out before he could finish the transaction.. :x

Prefer the Olko. Soon to know if it sticks. Guy is shipping mine to me by Saturday.

Appreciate the heads up, T!

Nice! Hope you enjoy it. Which bracelet did you go with?
Looks like the prior owner got it on the oyster. Still has all the original plastics in place.

Had the larger Gnomon version and sold it to Juan, if I recall correctly. Hoping this one sticks.

Good to see a fellow forum member picking this one up!!.. ;)
Arrived today, still in the plastic. Looks like the guy bought it in 12/2020 and never removed it from the box. Flawless.

Will get around to sizing it soon. Not overwhelmed but can see keeping it a few years, maybe permanently. Wears large for 39mm. Crown purchase is fantastic.

May have to remove the cyclops, even though my old eyes benefit from it.

Appreciate the heads up.
