Those who appreciate the value and quality of affordable mechanical watches from the major Japanese brands will perk up for a new line of Orient dive watches. The Orient Kano (“water god”) is everything fans love about the brand’s current dive watches, updated with a handsome design featuring mixed polished and matte finishes for a more refined feel. Water-resistant to 200m and featuring a 44mm wide by 12mm thick steel case topped by a mineral crystal, this is a watch you can dive with, beat up, or even dress up.

The Kano is powered by the brand’s F6922 automatic movement with a power reserve of 40 hours, which has been found in dive watches such as the Orient Mako II. It offers hand-winding and hacking (the seconds hand stops when setting the time), which is worth noting as a more premium feature that not all Orient movements have. Available in several color and strap configurations, the Orient Kano has a price of $235 on a silicon strap and $255 on a steel bracelet.

Really, really like the styling. Orient always finds a way to get it done.
