Any Seiko enablers available?

Post by mrneddles » Tue Aug 21, 2012 5:11 am

I have been online dating the Seiko Brightz SAGA067 model. My alma mater is Northwestern University, so I like having a royal purple dial in the box. These JDM models cost a pretty penny, but at 40mm and low profile, I know I would wear the shit out of it. Thoughts?

A very beautiful watch (when you start looking at the Watch-Tanaka video horology porn, you're pretty much lost.) The Brightz line is superbly made, from what I understand, but at around a grand, that's a lot of money to spend on what you can easily get with a far less expensive Citizen.

If you spring for one, make sure it's calibrated to pick up the radio signal from the US station. I've heard that not all of them are (some supposedly only pick up the Chinese and Japanese stations.)

Great to know. I am sourcing it through Higuchi, so will check with them to see if they can answer the question.

Well big thanks to Conjurer! Got my reply from Higuchi:
Dear Sir,.

This line only work with japan signal,

If you use inUSA,
It is regular quartz watch,

regards
katsu

Has certainly cooled my enthusiasm. Still a nice looking watch, but has fallen off my short list.
