My cool Chinese watches, due to Ron’s help

My prize cherry on the top watch. STD5 29 Jewel Sea-Gull. These are becoming as rare as hens teeth. I’m so lucky I got this NOS and at the great price I got it for.

These are Vintage Chinese Mechanicals (VCM)’s.
Zhongshan has a lot who collect for their textured dials.
Mine are animal textures, there an about 2-4 more I want to find to add.
Here is what I have
Eight peacocks

The Phoenix

Pandas

A Shanghai Peacock

I got this because it was a full set with box and papers. I never had any intention of owning a Mao watch until a full set came up. To me, it looks like Alfred Hitchcock side silhouette, so I call it my Hitchcock watch. I know that upsets some, but I don’t care.

A few newer ones that are sweet.
Beijing. These surprised and wowed me. I got to see the quality of Chinese watches and told Ron, now I get it.
I put these up against Swiss watches any day. Beijing made these with a lot of skill and pride.

A few more because I can only post 8 photos at a time.

Of course the Celadon with one of the few gold balance cocks. I always feel funny saying that, I always wait for Conjurer to light into it. I would like one of the new light blue or salmon dials, but I can’t justify having two of the same at this price, so I will stick with the rarer gold balance cock watch unless I get a stupid low price on another one.

An hked 1963 Chinese Airforce watch. Hked makes a damn good watch.

A Shanghai homage to the Eterna Kontiki.

Another STD5, but with fewer jewels. It’s called an oops watch because apparently they used the high jewel dial, but with a lower jewel movement out of the factory.
