The Sea-Gull DIY watch kit...

This thread contains some more details and great big photos...

These photos are from Sea-GullMall.com but I've heard some buzz that Kevin Ma at US Sea-Gull might be getting some kits in...I'll try to keep everyone posted if I hear more.

Normal full retail is, I gather, about 600 RMB or about $100 USD or so in China (and about half that on the sea-gullmall.com page, but they won't deliver outside China). It looks like a dive "style" watch but I wouldn't even wash dishes with it on I don't think. Still, it's a great idea.

According to a description provided by WUS member rmyin...

1. Yes, they give you two sets of hands, back and white luminous too...
2. The stem is cut already
3. The springs on the hand pusher is metal but has a plastic protective cover on it

That is not a bad idea.

Not that I'm going to say anything bad about Sea gull but the way I started working on watches was

1. Buy the tools cheap at first.
2. vintage watches that are cheap or cheap auto or quartz.
3 as Time goes by you'll get better.

Now to the price 100.00 doesn't seem to bad but if you never tried to build a watch it might a shot in the dark. I would hate to see someone spend hard earned money on this, that hasn't at least tried to do some work on a watch.
