Citizen introduces their first luxury, all mechanical watch

Post by eddiea » Tue Nov 06, 2012 9:49 am

Today is a momentous day in Citizen Watch Company history. It marks the introduction of the company's very first high-grade fully mechanical wristwatch. Until now, Citizen has produced millions of highly accurate and fairly high-end quartz watches under its own name, while leaving most of the mechanical movements created under the Miyota name to other brands.

It will be interesting to see just how well it sells, given Citizen's lack of history in this area. Of course, since they enjoy a sterling - as opposed to stuhrling ;) - reputation, it's probably not that much of a stretch to believe that those who have the disposable income might make the investment.

Judging for the excellent job they did with the 9100
movement series, I have no doubt this will be a success story as well...this watch is directed to a particular price bracket (that includes Grand Seiko) found the price very appealing .
