Fiyta Spacemaster....

Post by eddiea » Mon Nov 12, 2012 4:41 am

The “Spacemaster” was worn by astronaut Zhai Zhigang on the 29 September 2008 on the first spacewalk by a Chinese astronaut.

And for the Chinese ladies astronauts too...
On Saturday China’s first female astronaut went into space aboard the Shenzhou-9 spacecraft.
The mission is to dock with an orbiting station, the latest part of an ambitious programme to go to the moon and then on to Mars.
Fiyta’s Aeronautics Collection served as timekeeper for the space mission again.

The Chinese Watch Industry Wiki describes Fiyta's somewhat different structure (more of a brand owner/contractor than a traditional "do it in-house" manufacture) but with its own design team and QC protocols.

The best thing is that Fiyta is showing that quality can come from Shenzen, which is a good thing since so much of Shenzen's watch industry is concentrated on the lower edge of the scale with companies like Sunboro (fun but not haute horologie by any means) or worse.

Don'y know much about the brand , but assuming that to meet the Chinese Space Program criteria, movement , casing as well as all the rest... needs to be top notch.
