Hexa timeline

In the interest of keeping a record of my experience with this company, and because it appears as though I am the only Watchlord who reserved a watch, I am starting this particular thread. I'm not sure where I first learned of Hexa, but I believe it was through the watch blog OceanicTime.

~29 December 2011: reserved a bead blasted/PVD bezel K500 through the Hexa website: http://www.hexawatches.com/index.html

30 December 2011: received a reply from Vic Donati, 'designer, partner' of Hexa watches. My first choice of serial number was taken but my second choice was available.

01 January 2012: received an email stating I was one of the first 250 to reserve and so would receive certain small benefits. To wit, my name in the owner's manual, first choice on their next watch, free lifetime adjustments (this watch is billed as being adjusted to six positions from the factory)

05 January 2012: email from Vic Donati with a graphic rendering of the watch: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=gmail&attid=0.1.1&thid=134b0ee0c0bab219&mt=application/zip&url=https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui%3D2%26ik%3D885c7f936e%26view%3Datt%26th%3D134b0ee0c0bab219%26attid%3D0.1.1%26disp%3Dsafe%26zw&sig=AHIEtbT0Y32HWWiGW6gbTpORng9N9jKb-w&pli=1

18 February: mailchimp mass email from Hexa with a 'spy shot' of the dial and further marketing copy

03 May 2012: OceanicTime posts a brief review of the watch and discusses revisions. The review is favorable: http://oceanictime.blogspot.com/2012/05/hexa-k500-prototype.html

13 May 2012: another mailchimp email, this time with photos of the prototype K500 and a list of the revisions that will appear on the final product. The watch is expected to ship in 6-8 months according to the email.

13 May 2012: received invoice for 50% non-refundable deposit.

16 May 2012: payment sent to Hexa

16 May 2012: an email I sent concerning a possible problem with my shipping address receives a reply from 'Tonya at Team Hexa' within 5 minutes of being sent at 8:15 PM EST. I consider that good response time/ CS considering it was well after business hours.

I am going into this fully aware of the risks. My experience thus far has been very positive. I will strive to be objective about the overall experience with this company and about the final product when I receive it. I am not under any illusions about the country of manufacture. The case and components are undoubtedly Chinese with the movement being the commercially available Seiko 6R15 ( SII NH15) with some assembly and adjustment in Florida. Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
