Aragon Skyguardian

Post by GeorgeH » Fri Jun 28, 2019 2:23 pm

Haven't owned a Android/Aragon watch in a while. IMO they were a decent watch for the money. I am in the NBZ but couldn't resist the offer I received via email for 4th specials. A Skyguardian Chrono 44mm with brown dial and strap for $66.88 + $12 SH. Never had a brown dial watch before. Wish the case was brushed, not a fan of "mirror polished". SII VD57 Japan quartz movement. Don't know were the watch was made and at this price don't really care.

I got a brown dial watch earlier in the year and just love seeing how the dial changes in the lighting.
I’ve bought several cheaper watches in a variety of colors to have fun with in the summer. I have my expensive ones, but the cheaper ones fill the void of color choices and I won’t be heart broken if one breaks because the cost is good.
You can’t go wrong with a cheaper watch that fills a void.
Wing has some good priced sales.
Have fun with it and I look forward to the write up when you get it.

I found an Evine link where they had the same watch on Clearance for $20.98. Of course they were all sold out. I hate when that happens. Maybe it was a typo? Anyway, I'm happy with the price I got. Will do a review after I have the watch for a few days. Noticed that Evine mentioned Japan movement - watch made in China. Not a big deal, probably Hong Kong. Seiko has a lot of their watches made in China.

The Aragon Skyguardian Chronograph came in last week and I've had the chance to wear it several days and I would give it a thumbs up and it will get a fair amount of wrist time. Some likes and dislikes:

A good value at $66.88 plus $12 for S&H
It came with a gift a Pub Glass which was high quality heavy glass. I will fill it with Diet Caff Free Diet Pepsi. Had to quit drinking years ago. Doctor's orders...Coors Light and Coumadin don't go together to well.
I got the 44mm case which is a good fit for my 7 3/4" wrist. They also had a 48mm case which I find is too big for my taste (it sold out)
My first Brown dial ever...and I like it. In the right lighting it looks like Chocolate Cherry.
Good quality leather strap with stitching goes well with the dial and is very comfortable.
The case is "mirror polished" which I think makes it look "cheap"... I would prefer brushed. Some will say it scratches easily.
Wing does a good job with design. The dial is well laid out and the light hands against the dark dial make for easy reading.
The lume is very good, but is only on the hands (including the chrono) and not on the markers.
The Japan quartz chrono SII VD57 works very well. All the chrono functions are on the subdials. You have a fast runner 1/10sec, 60 sec, and 60 min subdials. The center second hand is for time.
The screw down crown was a nice touch. WR 200m
Solid caseback, screw down
Watch make in China. Should be OK . The watch has a quality feel and I haven't heard about quality issues with the Aragon Brand.
