Vostok Komandirskie K-34 Review

Post by Racer-X » Sat Sep 26, 2015 10:52 pm

I'm not a huge fan of Russian watches but have a Vostok from foghorn I quite like so thought I'd give this one a shot. It arrived on a terrible factory strap and the rotor screw was loose (common on this model). Had it tightened up and seems to run decent, -6 seconds per day. The Vostok 2426 movement makes a clicking noise that I have read is somehow normal for this watch...

On the larger end for me at 42mm and a bit thick but wears nicely. 20mm lugs. I've seen it on a brushed Watchadoo which I happen to have but am trying it on a strap.

The 8 o'clock crown rotates the inner bezel and GMT hand is tied to the hour hand. Domed mineral crystal. Lume dial is neat but fades very quickly after charging. Overall it's a fun watch unlike anything else in my collection.

I like that leather strap on it, it's a nice look. Does it have a water resistant rating?
I have been looking for a Russian 24hr dial, but it is hard to find one without a ship or plane on the dial. Someone at watch lords had a nice one, but I haven't been able to find one like it.
It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.
