This is an absolutely great review by any standard. Read it this afternoon on the site. Not only does it tell about the watch in question, it's a great overview of a brand that doesn't get a lot of play here in the U.S.

Just a great peace of work - delivering info without compromise. Everyone needs to read this one.

^^^

I agree wholeheartedly. One of the best, most comprehensive, honest reviews I have yet encountered.

I agreed with most of the review up till the movement.
The STP 1-11 is somewhat polarizing. The issue with fragile keyless works is - alas - very real and common. The percentage of flawed specimens, if reflecting the actual state of things, is far too high.
As I wrote, I can’t really know whether the issue with my specimen was a factory defect or a result of mistreatment in transport/storage.
If STP improves its QC and durability of the keyless works, that’ll give me peace of mind. However, as things look now, I can’t in good conscience give this movement an all-clear as a safe bet. I’m used to wearing watches with far more fragile movements, but the average non-WIS aren’t.
Working in watch and jewelry retail, I wouldn’t want to have to encounter a customer with a warranty claim due to an experience just like my own.

That was a great fucking review. Really. The straight dope, which is always appreciated--although not always by the manufacturers.
Well, if anyone at Roamer reads it, they’re sure as shit not gonna love me for it...

Yeah, but the watch world needs more of this. Unvarnished opinion based on facts. Not someone trying to sell us something, not someone trying to cash in or click bait or jive - just getting the word out without fear or favor. Love it like crazy.

I was - quite obviously - being sarcastic. I don’t care if the people at Roamer will hate me for it. I don’t give a fuck about what will be thought of me, whether I praise a watch or shell it thoroughly depends on which does it deserve - praise or a walloping. I just hope that’ll teach them something. I know that they do check Instagram posts with the hashtags they use...and I did make a post with these, with a link to the review. The blog has - so far - 1K followers, and we did promote the review on our blog’s IG as well.
It’s unlikely that Roamer - even though most likely aware of the review - will care much about what I wrote, let alone switch from STP to something else just because one mook called Mike broke their balls a wee bit. However, it can’t
hurt to dream.
