Well Artman asked for pictures.
In another thread Artman asked for some pictures from travels or our home areas. I spent part of this afternoon down by the slough, (not in a van.) This slough runs right off the main channel of the Columbia River near my home. On a nice day, I'll sometimes take some lunch and a couple drinks and sit down by the river. Part of the reason for going today was to learn about a new camera lens I got. Mixed results but here's a few shots.
A couple geese and their young ones.
Blue Heron trying to impress another Heron down the slough a bit. I don't think he got lucky today-but I don't really know if it's a he either.
A juvenile Bald Eagle. Many people don't realize bald eagles only get their white feathers when they are 3 or 4 years old. I think a lot of people confuse juveniles with Hawks due to their coloring.
I believe this is one of the parents of the juvenile Eagle.
