I wanted it real bad,,,

No worries, Big K; I'm the guy who wanted everyone else to see it before I'd have felt right about trying for it. Besides, after your fire sale over on WL, you may have to put up one of those nice new divers here at TAPLAP. FWAH-HA-HA-HA-HAAAH!! ;)

Okay guys, and ladies, give me a minute and I will have a watch for your consideration.
And here is my watch on a vintage cuff. I like it,,,,

It also came with a second watch, which I am giving to my brother-in-law.

And this is the leather strap I decided to go with, love it!

Well - this frickin' sweet Helbros showed up at my door today:

And after putting it on, I realized this is definitely a watch you never would want to "restore" or refurb - it's got the vibe of "Been there, done that" to it that would be completely erased only to be replaced by a Pam Anderson-esque fake quality of a tarted up celebrity who is trying to look young.

Within this chronograph's hardily seasoned case beats (correct me if I'm wrong) a well-maintained Venus 170 movement. The pushers are crisp, and the seconds hand resets back to 12 without hesitation.
Hailing from the 1940's, this Helbros surpasses my Granddaddy's Omega as the old geezer in my modest assemblage of watches, second to only my great-grand father's Howard pocket watch, and is likely to remain there for sometime.

Now, without further ado, I present this Mido Multifort for you consideration. I love the look of this watch, but never have I had a watch that looked too damned small on my wrist - until now.

The admittedly cool hexagonal case just makes this watch look teeny tiny on my gorilla wrists. This Mido has a bit of forum history as I bought it from the renowned gentleman who eats with his pecker. In fact, I'm going to let him describe it for you:

"I bought this new about14 years ago.It is about 36 mm and W/R to 100 meters. (at least it was when it was new.) ETA 2824. Mineral crystal with a scratch between the 9 and 10. The crown is a little tight but date and hands set as they should. OEM strap has seen its better days but good enough until a new one is ordered. Nice vintage look and feel. Great for lume-aticks."

Signed buckle and strap as well:

Also going to crib one of Foggy's images, if he don't mind:

If you're looking at this, BK - I still have your box....

Lol, lets hope one of the other members takes a look at this. I remember when you picked this one up. And you got everything about the Helbros right. That movement is a thing of beauty. Glad you like it.
