The more I see your Sinn, the more I like it!!..
If I had to pick a single watch to wear forever, this would be it.
Have a Sinn 104 green dial planned for my dive watch option and a Sinn 105 GMT, too. Hopefully a Sinn 903 blue dial eventually.
Would have zero issue with my entire collection being Sinn models.
...but there would be one problem - none of them would be a Longines Spirit.
I would have to handle a Spirit, one watch that I truly would like to try, to see if it could hold a permanent place in my collection. I think it has the potential for sure. Is on my longer list for consideration.
The 104, 105 and 903 will be my next three purchases as I can save up for them. Then it will be a task to find watches that would elevate my collection.
Example:
The Rolex Explorer is arguably the quintessential sport watch but is far more expensive that what I am willing to pay for a single watch.
I believe that in the price range I am willing to spend, $1500-$3500/watch, the Sinn 556 is unequaled in design, build quality and aesthetics.
The Longines Spirit could prove that assumption wrong. And it would have to in order to replace the 556.
Ideally, when I take the big dirt nap, I will have 8-10 watches to pass on. One for each of my kids, their partners, my grandkids and for my wife. I have no desire to leave behind boxes of watches that will be sold or seen as junk that has to be dealt with. Jeebus, this move toward retirement, aging and the pandemic really have changed how I look at my collection.
I spend ten+ hours a week looking but am really trying to narrow my focus when making purchases. Eyes on the prize and all.
