The future of PMWF...
Received the following email from the admins at PMWF regarding the future of the forum after the death of Reto...
"As you may, or may not have heard, Reto Castellazzi (the sole owner of the Poor Man's Watch Forum) has died.
PMWF was Reto's baby and he kept all the financial aspects of running PMWF to himself and allowed the admin team to run the social and technical aspects (which we were happy to do). With his death we must presume PMWF's days are numbered as there is no way for us to effectively continue operating PMWF at this time. We have no financial and legal authority (nor obligation to do so) and, while we certainly understand, no one from the families concerned have provided any guidance to us at all. Further, we have no reason to expect such guidance from the families in any timely fashion.
Reto's desire, and his accomplishment, was to create an international community for people who love affordable watches. To do so he tapped the talents of a diverse group of collectors worldwide. We supported him in this endeavour because we shared his vision. However, Reto did not provide a way in which PMWF could continue in it's current form without him. So, to keep our community intact we have been forced to create a new website. It is what the community wants and we would like to think that Reto would approve. We welcome all existing PMWF members to come and register for an account at The Wallet Friendly Watch Forum. This new forum will carry on in spirit where the PMWF left off.
The new site is up and running but still a bit of a work in progress, so please be patient if you encounter errors, and feel free to share with us if you do. We want to build a stable and strong community and can only do so with your help.
We look forward to seeing you all on the new forum soon.
