Love Automatics

Post by Okies » Thu Jun 27, 2013 12:34 pm

Hello everyone,

I initially joined watchlords, but after reading the rules and rhetoric I decided that any place that harps so emphatically about having thick skin and such wasn't for me. Not that I can't take a ribbing, I can, just the principle I guess. Anyway, I love mechanical watches, and quality bang for your buck is my new outlook. I have owned many brands to include Rolex and Omega but recently have a love affair with Seiko. Rolex is over priced for what you get IMHO, and most other swiss brands are "me too" watches.8) Please don't read me wrong, I love and respect all time pieces, just offering some insight into my thoughts on things. Heck if I could afford it, I'd own every automatic ever made! I'm happy to be here, look forward to expanding my knowledge base and getting to know everyone in this microcosm!

Welcome Bryan to the forum. Lot of great people here. Lot of knowledge to be learn from many. My favorite brand is Seiko and I own a few. Still have a couple of Swiss watches in the mix as well. Post some pic's when you get time.

Welcome to the site, Bryan...I'm very glad you're here, and I'll look forward to your insights as one devoted fan of automatics to another. (I've yet to get my first Rolex, but I can tell you it won't be a new - read: expensive - one...!)

You won't regret the purchase of a Rolex. Used is definitely the way to go IMO. Find a local watch maker for your services though as sending it to Rolex is extremely pricey!
