Hello from a watch newbie

Post by SemperEadem2 » Mon Aug 19, 2013 2:13 am

I'm a relatively new WIS from the East Coast of the United States. I enjoy discussing watches. Although I am no expert, I do enjoy armchair horology.

My daily wear watch is a Sandoz Pepsi Submariner with a Swiss movement. I also own an Alpha chronometer, an old Rolex Oyster Perpetual, a Commodore LED watch, and a CompuChron LED pocket watch. All except the two LEDs are automatic mechanical. I also have a couple of Parnis watches, but they both died on me within a month of buying them.

Your into homage's aren't you. If so that's fine but there are many better Steinhart and others have a good name without being junk.

Thanks again. ;o)

I do like homages, but I don't like direct rips of original designs. I mean, if you're gonna do a homage, at least change up the design a bit so you have a new idea. For example, Belinda Carlisle paid homage to Rita Hayworth whilst creating something fresh.

Insofar as my avatar is concerned - I'm a bit of a trickster that way. I won't actually hurt anyone, but I do like catching people off-guard. It's just harmless fun - and if I actually did injure someone, I'd apologise and make amends.

Well when I flicked it I cracked the screen pretty bad. You should buy me a new laptop, I'm an ASUS man, I'll send you my paypal address via PM...
