I know it is a matter of having the latest, greatest tech and the ever important defense spending; but, we have the greatest fighter jets in the world. Have had for decades.

No one was able to touch the Tomcat/Eagle. Then no one was able to touch the F-18. Well, except for former allies who we sold them to!
