New Hobby.

Post by AntFarm » Sun Apr 25, 2021 3:35 pm

So I started a new hobby. Over the past month I've been putting together a salt water tank. Eventually, over the next several months, I will be purchasing an anemone and turning it into a reef tank. Today I finally finished cycling the water and added;
2 snowflake clowns
2 cerith snails
4 astrea snails
3 blue legged hermits
and a pink kenya tree coral, which I will be moving.

I find the blue light and watching all the critters very relaxing. Not sure if there are any salt water or reef enthusiasts but this is the evolution of my 20g tank.

That’s nice, pretty cool.

Awesome!

I kept African Cichlids for years and absolutely loved it. If it hadn’t been for a brace failure on my 240 gallon tank, I would still be involved in the hobby.

I miss it terribly but the wife has said, “only one expensive hobby at a time.”

Please post continuing photos and keep us updated on the progress.

Ooh, cool! I had a roommate in college who kept one for a while... He killed so many yellow tangs we should've hosted a neighborhood fish fry.

Thank you.
@BL African cichlids are beautiful. and 240 is a huge tank. Must have been a tidal wave of water. I'm only running a 20 gallon. It's my go-round with salt water. I will definitely post as I add critters and corals.
@nimbleboy that's rough. Yellow tangs are hard to come by prices skyrocketed. Beautiful fish. My tank is way too small for any tang to live in
